Little Paws Rescue asked Amore’ to donate food for this abandoned waif. She was promptly named Lola, cuz what Lola wants, Lola gets!
Lola had chewed her feet so badly she could barely could walk, had urinary crystals, was blind in one eye and hard of hearing. Tough enough start, but to top it all off Lola’s “owners” dumped her in coyote country!
Sassy and I decided to foster Lola. Within 2 weeks all signs of Lola’s allergies were gone, her crystals were history, she’s loaded with energy, is building muscle and had learned to compensate for her shortcomings!
Looking back I realize that Sassy went through the same changes, but she started from being reasonably healthy! That’s why Lola’s changes were so noticeable.
Sassy has become Lola’s wrestling partner and ears! But Lola doesn’t need any help with her sense of smell! Lola knows when chows on! Lola knows that if she’s quick enough she can eat some of Sassy’s too!
Differences I Noticed in Lola:
* Loads of energy
* Bright eyes and energy
* No more gnawed feet
* Healthy skin-no more flakes or raw red spots
* Cleaner teeth and fresher breath
* Coat easier to brush -no more straw hair
* Reduced shedding and hair breakage
* ” Wet doggy ” smell is gone
Give Lola a few more months and she’ll be able to take Sassy in both the nightly living room/dining room rally and wrestling!
Lola has been with us since July 26th, 2009. In that time she has developed muscles in her hind end and a huge zest for life. She is full of energy and life. I laugh every time I see her run after Sassy. How far she has come and how lucky we are to have her! Here’s to many more years!
